The County Assembly of Lamu is committed to promoting gender equality, effective leadership, and inclusive governance by supporting initiatives that enhance the ability of women leaders to serve Lamu County. To further this goal, the County Assembly of Lamu Women Caucus joined the Second Run for Office: Multisectoral Women Leaders Training at SentriM Castle Royal Hotel, Mombasa.
The training brought together women leaders from multiple counties and sectors to strengthen leadership skills, increase political participation, and prepare women for greater roles in public service and decision-making ahead of future elections.

These engagements empower women to assume leadership roles and drive positive change in their communities. The Women Caucus is instrumental in advancing gender-responsive legislation, oversight, and representation, supporting the Assembly’s strategic goals and the County’s development agenda.

The program also offered a platform for participants to share experiences, build partnerships, and develop strategies to advance women’s leadership and civic engagement through community mobilization and advocacy.
The County Assembly of Lamu remains steadfast in its mission to foster inclusive leadership and strengthen governance structures that ensure equitable service delivery and representation for all residents of Lamu County.
